DeKé Magazine needed art direction for all its print issues. As co-founder of the brand, I contacted Julio de Pablo, a graphic designer with extensive knowledge of the publishing world, to develop the graphics for the print issue.
With his starting point and with great inspiration from Swiss editorial layout, the goal was to create a publication with hardly any typographic contrast. This idea is intended to make the images, the main protagonists of the printed issue, speak above the text, relegating the text to a simple informational role. Other inspirations were catalogues and art books in which the editorial function is the same as the one we had in mind.
From the first issue to the fourth, we have been developing together a more and more solid and defined graphic design for the rest of the layouts with the freedom that there is always room for innovation under the concept of WIP Magazine. where the logos appear.

Extracts from deKé Magazine's No2 SIDE A, launched in July 2023. This is where the concept of ‘a WIP Magazine’ comes in. The publication has been evolving organically at a much higher editorial level since its inception. Step by step, it is developing a unique and recognisable character.
